Why are we so backward? Why can't there be pride in anything Nigerian? Why can't airport staffs be trained to communicate with respect and carry out their duties without harassment and demand for bribe? Is anything inherently wrong with our grey matter as a people? Sort out the infrastructure, attitude and general experience in abuja airport!

This is one of the worst airports I've ever been to, and I've been to many. Must I tip everyone just to do their job? Security is the worst too. I went through security and the security officer took an item from me in a security checkpoint that is not listed as a banned item. I searched online and looked around the airport and did not see any signs or information banning a power strip. If TSA lets me carry it, I'm surprised that anyone else would forbid it.
The security officer was incredibly rude, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. It was too late for me to check my item, even though in most airports you can do that at the gate if there is a problem, so now I have to replace a harmless electronic device that is not prohibited as a carry on item.
I hope the airport will either post a complete list of prohibited items online and in airports, or educate the staff members property. Perhaps train them in general customer service as well so they aren't so rude.
Additionally, when a flight is delayed, post it on the flight schedule board. Why else would it be there? It doesn't do any good if it is not updated regularly to reflect flight times.

The place is infested by hungry greedy looking people who do not have a clue of what customer service is. They scream on top of their voices as if it was a centre of hard of hearing people. The customs officials are just but a bunch of money mongers waiting to take advantage of people. They tried to make me pay for my 5 pairs of shoes and i told them not in this life or even in the after life.One woman asked me why i held a British passport yet i was a black Nigerian.I just answered her to refer me to her senior so i can answer such a meaningless question. I stopped to take a look at a poster with wanted people and an office screamed at me and said why was i looking at the poster as if i knew the people. My experience at this airport on arrival on an international flight, and even more so on my departure, was to put it bluntly, quite dissatisfactory! Nigerian Customs and immigration officials are impolite and lack cordiality, and I as a Nigerian am treated better in other countries than I am treated in my own country. This airport, as with every other airport in Nigeria, is incapable of providing any traveller with a pleasant airport experience. It was not a nice experience and I am not looking forward to coming back there, even though I have no choice since it is the only airport available to me in my nation's capital. I am sad that Nigeria cannot do better.

In this airport, the custom issue is under the control of so called "Immigration office". Passages are not allowed to take their own wine only if you give money to the immigration people. what's more, they will hold you when you need to see the regulation of the custom.
I've been to loads of countries, and most of the international airports allows passenger to have two bottles tops, while this international airport looks like it's not owned by the country but the immigration office. What a shame!!!

I have two escalation about the lady who is measuring the temperature for Ebola free check.
while i and my family were travelling to Malaysia at 2PM 5th December 2014.
First escalation :-
She was not at her location and delegated someone from security to measure, he requested my wife to take off her HIJAB, which i refused definitely even we cancel the travel.
Second escalation:-
after we already did boarding she came 30 minutes later to insist taking off my wife HIJAB, and refused to accept all alternatives by measure the hands or any place in face, she requested only ears, which is conflicting with the photo you presented in the entrance which is in the face not in the ears.

I believe that is totally against the law and does not respect the basics of the majority Nigerian who are Muslims.
She asked my wife to get out from boarding gate and returned to her location where she was absent at out passing time, because of delaying the flight for this reason we agreed to go with my wife to the internal gate toilet for measure in ear??!!!!

i submitted that and i am looking for your feedback and action for non professional and bad attitude which can spoil the great efforts you are doing to enhance the services, and showed discrimination for religions, i ask if any christian nun will pass with her fully covered head except the face what will be done with her???
